Know who is out and who is late — without the gate notebook

Hostel and PG owners still note “who went out, when will they be back” in a paper register at the gate. Chatsettu turns it into a simple screen your warden uses on a phone — and tells you when someone has not come back on time.

  • Two taps at the gate. Search the student, choose why and when they will be back. Tap “Back in hostel” when they return. A mistake can be undone.
  • Late students are flagged for you. You and the warden get an e-mail, and you get a phone notification. Optional daily roll-call note. WhatsApp alerts are supported too.
  • Students can ask from their own phone. Put a QR on the gate; a student enters their mobile number and PIN and asks to go out. The warden says yes or no.

Is Chatsettu just a chatbot?
No — the AI employee is the front door, and behind it is a mini-CRM. It answers customers 24/7, then saves each lead who shares a number, sends you instant alerts, follows up by email or SMS, books and reminds appointments, hands leads to your staff, and keeps your day's accounts in a notebook-style diary. Some business types also get their own tools, like table QR codes for restaurants or a daily meal count for a mess. We keep updating it with what clients ask for.
What is the Ad Planner?
A free tool included with every plan. Give each ad its own Chatsettu link or QR, use it as the ad's destination, and type in what you spend: you see how many leads each ad brought and the cost per lead. A built-in Launch Guide shows, step by step, how to put an ad live on Instagram, Facebook, Google Search, YouTube, WhatsApp Status or a printed poster. You also get a few AI ad plans every month (3 on Starter, 10 on Pro, 20 on Agency) that read your agent's knowledge and suggest where to advertise, ad texts and a posting calendar. It does not run your ads or see your Meta or Google account, and a plan is a suggestion, not a guarantee of results.
Do I need a website to use Chatsettu?
No! You can use a Share Link or QR Code — no website needed. Create your agent, train it, and share the link on WhatsApp or print the QR code in your shop.
Does it work on WhatsApp?
Your customers' chats don't run inside WhatsApp, and you don't need the WhatsApp Business API. Instead Chatsettu works alongside WhatsApp: put your Chatsettu link in your WhatsApp status or business description, on Instagram, in your ads, or show the QR code in your shop — customers tap it and chat with your AI right in their browser. WhatsApp is used in two optional ways: with the WhatsApp Lead Alerts add-on, Chatsettu sends you a message on your own WhatsApp number when a new lead arrives; and a free Continue on WhatsApp button can let a visitor who has shared their number carry on with you on your own WhatsApp. It never messages your customers; the visitor chooses whether to send.
Can the AI make mistakes?
Like any AI, it can occasionally get something wrong. Chatsettu is built to answer only from the information you give it, to say so when it doesn't know, and to offer your customer a handoff to your team. You can read conversations, see the questions it couldn't answer, and add the answers any time.
Will it work for my type of business?
Yes. Chatsettu works for clinics, restaurants, hotels, colleges, admission consultancies, mess and tiffin services, salons, gyms, real estate, travel agencies, and more. We have 15 industry-specific AI behaviors built in, plus a general one for everything else.
Do messages expire monthly?
No monthly expiry! Your messages stay valid until you use them all. On Pro plan you get 5,000 messages — use them in 1 month or 6 months. Renew only when they run out.
What happens after a lead comes in?
You get an instant email notification the moment a customer shares their phone number — and, if you turn it on, a free notification on your phone too. Prefer WhatsApp? The optional WhatsApp Lead Alerts add-on (credit packs from ₹149) sends the alert to your own WhatsApp number as well; your email alerts keep working either way. All leads also appear in your dashboard where you can track, assign and follow up — and, with the Follow-up add-on, have Chatsettu follow up for you.
Can I get alerts on my phone?
Yes — free on every plan. Turn on phone notifications from your dashboard and you can be alerted about new leads, customers asking for a human, new appointments, files customers send, when your messages run low, and (for a mess) the daily plate count. Alerts show only a short line (a name or a time), never phone numbers or chat messages. Your email alerts keep working either way. More in the FAQ →
Can I update my AI agent later?
Yes! Click Edit on any agent from your dashboard. Add new URLs, upload new PDFs or images, or type additional information. Existing knowledge stays safe — new knowledge gets added on top.
What language does the AI speak?
The AI automatically detects and replies in the same language as the customer — English, Hindi, Hinglish, and 8 more Indian languages (Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Gujarati, Punjabi, Marathi). No setup needed.
Is my data and my customers' data safe?
Each client's data is kept separate from every other client's, and we never sell it. Raw chat transcripts are deleted automatically after 30 days. To answer questions, the AI processing is done with OpenAI and your knowledge is stored with Pinecone — the Privacy Policy lists every provider we use and why.
What is the Business Diary?
A notebook-style page where you write down your daily income and expenses — by hand, or in your own words with optional AI that sorts it into entries for you to review before saving. Chatsettu adds up each month's income, expense and profit, shows charts and where your money went, and lets you download it as a CSV. Can Chatsettu keep an Out-In register for my hostel or PG?
Yes — with the Hostel Register add-on (₹2,999/year, switched on for your account on request, free trial available). Your warden searches a student, taps why they are going out and when they will be back, and taps “Back in hostel” later. You see who is inside, out and late, and you are e-mailed when someone is late. Students can also ask to go out from their own phone with their number and PIN. See how it works. Can I cancel anytime?
